Elected in 2019 to represent the Meir South ward, Cllr Hussain has worked tirelessly for the community that he represents, ensuring that their priorities are his priorities. He has had the opportunity to bring positive change to the area and worked with local community groups to help build a cleaner, greener Meir South. Faisal has been involved in many community activities which have also included young people with tree planting in the area.
Cllr Hussain served as Lord Mayor 2022-2023, becoming the youngest Lord Mayor in the city's history. During his year in office, he raised over £9,000 for local charities The Hub Foundation and Brighter Futures through a series of community and sporting events.
