Elected in 2019 to represent Goldenhill and Sandyford, Cllr Kanneganti bucked the trend at the 2023 Local Elections by increasing his share of the vote to over 71%
Cllr Kanneganti is a hard working local councillor, seen regularly completing community litterpicks across his ward and is know for visiting children across Goldenhill and Sandyford at Christmas with Santa.
A local GP, Chandra is also British International Doctors Association National President and North Staffs LMC Chair.
Cllr Kanneganti served as the citys Lord Mayor 2021-2022, raising over £10,000 for local good causes.
In 2023, Chandra was selected as the Conservative candidate for Stoke-on-Trent Central. Chandra will replace Jo Gideon MP at the election, following Jo's announcement that she would not contest the next election in 2023.
Chandra was awared a CBE in the New Years Honours List 2024 for services to General Practice.
