Stoke-on-Trent City Council has said 'sorry' after several potholes remained unrepaired after six months.

Several potholes, located on Leek New Road were reported by ward Councillor Dave Evans back in January 2025 - but have yet to be repaired. At recent meeting of the full council, Cllr Evans raised the matter as a members question - but no response was provided during the meeting and instead, Labour Cabinet Members offered a written response following the meeting, to avoid further scrutiney.

The written response, provided by Cllr Finley Gordon-McClusker, who also works full-time for Labour MP, David Williams offered an apology and indicated that 'some' repairs had started on 9th June and that some repairs would remain incomplete until the end of the year.

Cllr Evans said the situation was 'taking the mick.'
