The Royal Stoke University Hospital is to receive £17.6 million in additional funding from the extra £1.8 billion recently pledged by Boris Johnson.
The money will fund 3 new wards which will help improving capacity and provide 84 new beds this winter.
The University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of 20 NHS trusts sharing £850 million in new capital funding from Boris Johnson:
“Our fantastic NHS staff in Staffordshire work tirelessly to look after their patients and I promised on my very first day as Prime Minister to ensure money for the NHS gets to the front line.
“We’re now putting our money where our mouth is, and the Royal Stoke Hospital will get £17.6m to create three new wards and deliver more beds by the end of the year.”
“This is great news for patients, and great news for our hardworking NHS doctors and nurses.”
